We are delighted to share our good news with you and hope to keep it coming.  Ghost Town to Havana is, at its core, a celebration of community.  It is a profoundly local film with national significance.  Our experience in Cuba widened our sense of community and made us even more aware of the importance of mentorship in the lives of youth.  The documentary makes it compellingly clear how difficult it is to be a mentor in an American inner city today.  For all Cuba's economic problems, why is it that Afro-Cuban youth have far more mentorship support and opportunities to participate in sports, arts, and education programs than African-American youth in Oakland?

The film, like the East Bay, is expansive and imaginative, hopeful, scrappy and tough.  Many of you have been with us from the beginning and it hasn't always been easy.  Thank you!  Now it's time to take a moment to celebrate and enjoy each other and our success.
